Episode 9 of our Podcast sees Executive Producer Robson and Campbell reunited for the first time in a long time. Tune in and listen as they fondly reminisce times good and bad, and then cover the ears of nearby children as they bicker like schoolgirls who have drunk too much lager. Occasionally they can be heard to discuss actual subjects such as The Economy, Dog Allergies and The Official Secrets Act.
As usual the swearing and cussing is punctuated by a selection of great tunes. In the past we haven’t published a tracklist because we were offering prizes to people who could name the tunes featured… Read the rest

This is nice…and a bit scary.

It’s from LP Cover Lover, a site that celebrates ”the weird and wonderful world of record covers from the golden age of LPs”.
There are lots more to gawp at on the site itself, or you can subscribe to their feed and have new sleeves delivered regularly.
Enjoy

Every now and again I contribute something to Music Think Tank, a website site written by a bunch of different people scattered around the globe and all involved with the music business in some form or another.
My latest article “The 10 Websites That Are Ruining Things For My Band” is freshly published and largely about how I waste my life messing around with stupid stuff online, when I could and should be using the interweb to further the……ahem…..career of this here Country/Folk outfit.
Enjoy

The Friends of the Stars Podcasts are now going to be coming attcha much more regularly. The heady mix of drunken swearing, questionable opinions and often great music that is peculiar to this band and brand is now on it’s 7th episode, with more in the pipeline.
Eagle-eyed readers may notice that over there >>>>> on on the right-hand sidebar we now have a seperate feed doohickey for Podcasts. This means you can subscribe to the Podcasts only and have them sent directly to iTunes, or whatever it is you use, without having to read any of the other boring… Read the rest

Friends of the Stars now has an art portfolio to keep us financially warm in these dark economic times. Perhaps ‘Art’ is not as solid an investment as something such as ‘Gold’, but when have we ever done what’s good for us, financially or otherwise?
Apart from reproduced images in print form I’ve never handed over hard cash for any kind of proper visual art before so the whole experience was quite a thrill. Since the interweb was involved it was also something of a geeky thrill, which isn’t half as disgusting as it probably sounds.
The art arrived a… Read the rest

It’s all gone horribly zombie wrong on a reality TV show. Shockingly, one of the contestants asked for our help in a desperate plea at the height of her blood-crazed madness, using the blood and guts of her slaughtered fellow contestants as ink.
Unfortunately the golf was on telly over the weekend so we missed it. We hope all concerned are ok.

You have to admire the commercial spirit of the human race – it’s what got us where we are today.
Our limitless imagination means that along with all the fun stuff like sex, music and homemade meatballs, we are also able to come up with products and services that our fellow humans never knew they needed until the point comes that they discover they need them, which is a neat trick. This ability to come up with all manner of shit that we don’t need is also what drives our willingness to celebrate those people who can sell ice to… Read the rest

We enter a new realm today. Rather than having to wait for updates on our self-inflicted failure and disappointment to be posted on this here website, you’ll now be able to tune in to rolling, as-it-goes-wrong coverage via a Twitter account.
Here’s how I came to this most considered of decisions:
Twitter is something I’ve been aware of for a while but have never felt the need to use, so naturally I dismissed it out of hand. Then, of course, I started using it anyway and now, approximately 24 hours later, I’m now going to commit to something stupid and quioxtic that involves using it on a daily basis… Read the rest
