A new Friends of the Stars Podcast is unleashed to a disinterested interweb today.
It’s the 5th in our irregular series and is entitled “Run, Robson, Run”, and this time the boys cover such diverse subjects as Industrial Action, The Legacy of The Birmingham Half Marathon and, controversially perhaps, which of the 4 Cafes on York Road in Kings Heath provides the best breakfast fry-up. It is, as you’ve no doubt come to expect, cerebral stuff indeed…
At around 26 minutes this one is a wee bit shorter than the others, which all clocked in at around the 40-minute mark. There are several reasons for this, the main one being that the normally rich and varied source material - i.e. the 30 minutes or so of idle chatter recorded whilst sitting and drinking near a microphone – was this time sadly lacking in it’s usual ‘Podcast Gold’, as Executive Producer Robson likes to call it.
Upon listening back the session infact seemed to mostly consist of a drunken and rambling argument about how the BBC should be funded (I’m not kidding) between 2 people without experience in the field, grasp or clue and, as such, made for extremely dull and pointless listening. In short, neither side made their point, there was almost a punch-up and the recording ends with four or five minutes of huffing and sulking. It was shite, frankly.
Anyroad….
As usual the Podcast is also a competition. In a nutshell, name all the songs and artists used here and the closest to the money shot wins a prize! Email your entries, innit.
