Did we mention the remixes?

The 10-track “Lighting & Electrical” album also has a companion EP which may or may not look like this.

During the course of recording the album we farmed out finished (Ok, semi-finished) tracks and component parts to a few friends who took them away and bent them all out of shape. The only brief we gave to our friends was to ‘Have Fun’ with the tracks, and what came back was lovely and surprising.

At this stage I’m not sure what, if anything, we’ll do with the remix collection as a whole and so chucking them out onto the interweb one by one will do until a suitable idea comes to me…

The first one to be chucked out onto the interweb until a suitable idea comes to me is the L&R Woodcutter Fabulous Remix of album track Sharpening a Blade

This particular remix was helmed by our good friend Rob Hyde who, along with his mate Lee, took the raw Sharpening files created a beautiful 4m 40second instrumental tune that takes it’s hook from the very brief time signature change in the original song. Clever, stuff boys.

Here’s Rob…ain’t he purdy?

So, Rob has been playing in a variety of bands over the years, most notably Mum & Dad during their tenure with Manchester’s Twisted Nerve label. He’s a mutli-instrumentalist, a very good drummer and all-round nice fella. These days he is more usually found down there in fancy London DJing the lastest hot wax (and the occasional ELO record) for hip movers and shakers.

More remixes to be posted soon……..
